A2 Short Film Magazine Page Review

(Beginning) The idea of the film came into my head very unexpectedly. I was walking around in the town streets and looking at people’s hands when I thought of idea for filming, which obviously was ‘hands’. Than I was thinking of theme of the film like drama, comedy etc. In the very beginning I didn’t want to have quite simple comedy or drama, film meant to be abstract and easy to watch for all audiences. Film shouldn’t just look tasteless by being just abstract or simple comedy, even though it promises to be very abstract it will carry some narrative, or perhaps some point of view/thoughts of creator.  The final idea was some kind of abstract film theme mixed with teenage drama. The reason for abstract film was its actual length, as this film will have to be no longer than five minutes I thought it won’t be enough to fit in some serious theme into such short period of time.

(Main Text, Paragraph 1) Films starts from the shot in the field and sunrise which is fast forwarded, to explain to us that its morning. This was quite a nice idea from the author as it gives the right information. We carry on to someone’s room and stop on the clock which show morning time, this we shall say another hint of the morning, also this hint shows us that it is quite late as well and only after a young teenage man hits them we start to think that there is something goes wrong. Man is late for his lessons as we discover it within the film. Next shot we see another room but with similar mood, or I mean there is clock and the overall shot of the room! But this time it is a girl. We see that her room much tidier that man’s room it is some kind of complete opposition between those two!

(Main Text, paragraph 2) All other parts of the film we see them clothing up, putting on some clothes taking their books and so forth. They will have lessons in which they will look completely opposite to each other. Man will be untidy, strong and big and on the other hand girl will be effeminate, small (not tall) and tidy. I should say that the end of the film is very promising, as those oppositions will explain the purpose of the film. I honestly hope that everyone will enjoy this light film.

(Pull Quote 1) “The end of the film is looking quite unusual, looking forward to see it!!!”

(Pull Quote 2) “My aim was to create the narrative in the first place…”

(Pull Quote 3) “<<Actor’s been playing excellent which I’m glad about!!!”

(Pull Quote 4) Alexander Tagiev, main director
